Bringing Clarity to the Community: Focus Point’s Free Eye Screening Initiative in Penang
At Focus Point, we believe that good vision is fundamental to a better quality of life. As part of our commitment to promoting eye health, our dedicated team recently participated in the Free Health Screening, Blood Donation & Circumcision Program, jointly organised by the Penang Private Medical Practitioners Society and Pusat Khidmat KADUN Tanjong Bunga. The event took place on 9 February 2025 at The Foyer Ground Floor, Lotus’s Tanjung Tokong, from 9 AM to 1 PM, with the esteemed presence of YB Zairil Khir Johari, ADUN Tanjung Bungah.
A Vision for Better Health
With the unwavering support of our colleagues from Focus Point Gurney Paragon, Focus Point Gurney Plaza and Opulence Gurney Plaza, we set up a dedicated station offering free eye screenings to the public. Our trained optometrists provided comprehensive eye assessments, offering attendees valuable insights into their eye health while raising awareness about the importance of regular check-ups. This initiative is aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-Being, which emphasizes ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
Strengthening Community Ties
This initiative reflects our ongoing mission to support local communities by providing accessible eye care services. The turnout was remarkable, with individuals from all walks of life taking advantage of the free screenings. Many were grateful for the opportunity to detect early signs of vision issues and receive expert guidance on corrective measures.
Commitment Beyond the Event
Focus Point’s dedication to eye health extends beyond one-day programs. Through various Community Investment efforts, we continue to drive awareness and offer sustainable solutions to ensure Malaysians have access to quality vision care. Our participation in this event aligns with our broader mission to make a difference, one eye at a time and supports SDG 3 by promoting universal eye health as a fundamental aspect of overall well-being. This initiative is also aligned with our Focus Point Caring Hearts Charity Foundation, which carries the motto, “Together, We Make a Difference.”
