Empowering students through healthy eyesight! We were at IMU Bukit Jalil in collaboration with Alcon Malaysia from 30th to 31st May 2023! Students and staff are welcomed for a free eye screening and experience the convenience of contact lenses plus enjoy exclusive Alcon contact lens deals. For those who have not wear any contact lens before, the students were able to learn how to put on and take off the contacts lens at the event.

In 2021, due to the government’s social distancing mandate and SOP, community engagement efforts were constrained throughout the pandemic. Despite the problems we have experienced, Focus Point have taken good initiative by giving complementary eye examination and providing more than 500 pairs of eyeglasses to children who require them. We have supported Vision Awareness Project 2021 organized by Lions Club of Penang Rising Star on March 2021 and more than 70 pairs of eyewear had been sponsored to the children in need of vision care.
In Malaysia, contact lenses have grown in popularity, particularly cosmetic contact lenses, which have become a sought-after fashion accessory. The rising adoption and use of such beauty lenses in Malaysia have also increased the market share, raising their revenue contribution of contact lens sales from 26 percent to 30 percent overall in the most recent year.
Children nowadays seems to be getting less play time outdoors and instead spend more time indoors using digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops or LED television. These digital devices usage is becoming a norm in our children’s lives, such as attending online classes or watching their favourite videos.
Dry eye occurs when someone either have inadequate amount of lubricating tears or poor quality of tears, causing the tears to dry up too quickly and the front of the eye to become dry and irritated. Dry eye is a common condition and chronic problem to a certain people, especially the older adults. As a result, dry eye can be uncomfortable and may cause the eye to produce the watery type of tears.
Presbyopia is the loss of your eyes’ ability to focus on nearby objects as you get older, usually occurring around the age of 40. You might find yourself struggling to read books or even text messages even when you are wearing your usual prescription glasses or contact lenses.
In conjunction with World Sight Day, be part of our CSR Campaign under Focus Point Caring Hearts Charity Foundation, in collaboration with HOYA Vision Care Malaysia. Purchase a pair of HOYA ophthalmic lenses this month and we will donate a pair of ophthalmic lenses to the needy.
